Timetable & Additional Information -

  • Twice a week general medicine on call on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

  • Post-take ward round with consultant on Wednesdays and Mondays for Saturday rounds

  • Respiratory lunch

  • Cardiology meeting

  • At night Hospital-wide After hour medical registrar in-charge on weekends

General information of the hospital -

  • Northern Beaches Hospital is in Frenchs Forest in the Northern Beaches area in Sydney.

​​

  • Northern Beaches Hospital is a district general hospital, owned by Healthscope with private and public beds.

​​

  • It is a 486-bed hospital with room to expand.

​​

  • The hospital has 50-space public emergency department and 1400 onset car spaces.

​​

  • It has ICU, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, onsite renal dialysis, oncology, haematology, neurology with stroke unit, cardiology, respiratory, rheumatology, endocrinology, geriatric medicine and general medicine services.

​​

  • You will be working closely with friendly consultants and helpful allied health staff across the hospital. It has a real community vibe but with a tertiary hospital infrastructure.

Quality of life - 

  • Northern beaches lifestyle, need I say more!

​

  • 15 minute drive away from beautiful beaches.

​​

  • Manly Beach, Freshwater Beach Spit-to-Manly Walk, and many amazing beaches along the coastline.

​​

  • Lots of outdoor activities.

​​

  • It is easily connected to the lower north shore and the city of Sydney, only within 30min drive.

​​

  • On-site parking is available (self pay $6 per day).

​

  • Bus stop opposite the Hospital.

​​

  • Hospital cafeteria provides food and coffee, it is one of the BEST in the state!!! (Consensus reached amongst team members).

After hours expectations - 

  • Weekend MOIC Roster – General Medicine Weekend reviews, Rapid Response Lead

    • Weekends/PH 0800-2000 once per 3-4 weeks

  • Rapid Response Lead Weekdays

    • 0800 – 1330 once per fortnight

​​

  • No weekend ward rounds for Endocrinology/ID

  • No on call after hours for Endocrinology/ID
