After hours expectations -

No after-hours requirement at the San.
-
You will be on the weekend Gen Med ward round roster for RNSH, usually 2 ward round shifts and 2 on calls for ward round every 3 month term.
-
Weekend ward rounds last 4 hours.

You will be taking care of admitted general medicine patients, as well as perioperative patients primarily undergoing orthopaedic or neurosurgical procedures.
Quality of life -

Parking – street parking is available for free, and hospital carpark parking is available on a 3 or 6-month basis – averages out to $19 per week.
-
There is free staff parking on the top floor (level 5) of the P2 car park. Will need staff ID swipe in (can be collected at the security office).​

Food available – hospital cafeteria (strictly vegetarian food) and San clinic café, as well as some nearby food places within walking distance.

Nearby transport – bus from hospital to Turramurra train station or to Thornleigh train station (closest).

Social life in surrounds – not far from North Shore area.

Ideally, the trainee should have a car as the term requires travel between SAN and Hornsby Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital clinics as well.
